Hey ladies! ![]()
Been driving OTR for 6 years now while raising two kids (they’re with dad during my runs). Wanted to start a thread for us women truckers to share tips and support each other.
Things I Wish I Knew Starting Out:
Safety first, always. Trust your gut. If a stop feels sketchy, keep driving. I have a list of “safe” truck stops where I feel comfortable as a solo female driver.
Cab organization is life. Small space means everything needs a place. I’ve got my setup down to a science now - mini fridge, instant pot, blackout curtains.
Self-care on the road. Planet Fitness black card = showers and gym access nationwide. Game changer.
Questions for My Fellow Lady Truckers:
- How do you handle the isolation? Video calls only go so far.
- Best healthy eating tips for the road?
- Any companies you’d recommend (or avoid) for women?
- How do you deal with the “you don’t look like a trucker” comments?

Let’s build a supportive community here! ![]()
