I know Swift gets a lot of flak online, but I want current opinions from drivers who’ve actually worked there recently.

Questions:

  • Has their training program improved?
  • What’s the pay scale like now?
  • How strict are they on home time promises?
  • Any issues with their DOT compliance or drug testing programs?

Swift gets a lot of jokes thrown their way - you’ve probably seen the memes. But here’s the truth: they train a LOT of new drivers, which means you see more Swift accidents simply because there are more Swift trucks with newer drivers.

They’ve actually improved a lot over the years. The equipment is newer than it used to be, and they’ve invested in training. Are they perfect? No. But they’re a legitimate way to get your foot in the door.

Highway66 is right. Swift’s gotten better. Friend of mine just finished his first year there - consistent miles, no major complaints. Not where you’ll retire, but solid for building experience.
