Schneider National - Good First Company?

Considering Schneider for my first trucking job out of CDL school. Heard they have good training but want real driver opinions.

What I want to know:

  • How’s the Schneider training program?
  • Do they keep their promises about pay and home time?
  • What’s their equipment like?
  • Are they strict on safety and DOT compliance?

Also curious if anyone has experience with their dedicated vs OTR divisions. What’s better for a new driver?

Thanks in advance! :folded_hands:

Schneider has one of the better reputations among megas, in my opinion. Their training program (Top Gun) is respected in the industry. Orange trucks are everywhere for a reason - they’ve been around forever and do things relatively right.

For a first company? Could do a lot worse. Just know what you’re getting into - it’s still a mega, so you’ll be running hard and the personal touch isn’t there. But the experience and training are valuable.

Thanks for the info, LoneStar! I’m also looking at Schneider as my first company. Quick question - do they have good regional options? I’d rather be home weekly if possible, even if it means less pay starting out.
