Hey drivers! ![]()
With 2026 kicking off, wanted to start a thread about the latest ELD and compliance changes coming our way this year.
Key Updates to Watch:
1. FMCSA Portal Changes
The Clearinghouse is getting some updates to how violations are reported and queried. Make sure your carrier is staying on top of queries - annual queries are required for all CDL drivers.
2. California AB5 Enforcement
Still seeing fallout from this. Some carriers are restructuring operations entirely to avoid CA. What’s your take - worth the hassle to run loads into California anymore?
3. Drug Testing Updates
Oral fluid testing is now a DOT-approved option alongside urine testing. Some companies are starting to implement this. Anyone experienced it yet?
Discussion Questions:
- What ELD are you running and are you happy with it?
- Any horror stories with HOS violations you’ve learned from?
- How are you handling the California situation?
Let’s help each other stay compliant and avoid those CSA points! Drop your experiences below. ![]()
