Let’s build a list of the BEST truck stops for parking overnight. Not the sketchy ones, not the ones that are always full - the good ones.

What makes a great truck stop?

  • Actually has parking available
  • Safe and well-lit
  • Decent food options
  • Clean showers
  • Good wifi (we can dream)

I’ll start the list:

  • Iowa 80 (Walcott, IA) - The big daddy. 900 parking spaces.
  • Jubitz (Portland, OR) - Full service, movie theater, great food
  • Buc-ee’s (various TX locations) - Clean bathrooms, amazing snacks

Iowa 80 is hard to beat if you can catch a spot, and Jubitz is definitely one of the better ones, too. For me, a good truck stop really comes down to parking, clean showers, decent food, and not feeling like I need to watch my mirrors all night.
